ATI’s AOV-10 Axially-Compliant Robotic Orbital Sander is designed specifically for the quick and simple integration of a variety of robotic sanding and surface finishing operations. The AOV-10 is compact and lightweight, making it a great option for smaller sized robot and cobot models. The design features built-in pneumatic compliance and gravity compensation that allow for a consistent finish regardless of the unit’s orientation. The AOV-10 works with 5 or 6-inch sanding discs and includes 3M’s curated abrasive starter kit. Users have the option to add the Auto Media Changer to their AOV-10 system to provide storage and hands-free exchange of standing discs. ATI has developed the Auto Media Changer specifically for use with the AOV-10 Robotic Orbital Sander to further increase the efficiency and safety of robotic sanding process. The Automatic Media Changer system features three modules; the Remover detaches the worn sanding disc; the Checker verifies the presence or absence of a sanding disc, and the Hopper stores and applies additional sanding discs. Automatic Media Changer for AOV-10 can be added retroactively to existing systems and configured to order. Users can include multiple media hoppers to store backup discs of different grit and minimize downtime from media exchange. ATI Industrial Automation has developed a new standard robotic tool changing and storage solution; the QC-7 Robotic Tool Changer. The pneumatically-actuated QC-7 features No-Touch locking technology and a patented Fail-Safe locking mechanism for a secure connection between the master and tool.
