Your standard pink ceramic cup does not optimize the flow of gas, even with a gas lens. Through testing, we discovered, as gas exits out of the cup it is produces turbulence, and when it tumbles it collects oxygen. The oxygen is then deposited on your weld that you have meticulously prepared, only to discolor, or worse. We have discovered how to take that turbulent gas and create laminar flow. Compare it to taking an aerator off of a common faucet and running the water. It swirls an tumbles as it comes out, but then put the aerator back on and the water is a perfect cylindricalu shape. That’s what we have done through fluid dynamics with our EDGE Laminar Flow Series.
