• BIG BORE® 3-Jaw Front End Air Chuck Features Built in Pneumatic Cylinder and Extended Stroke (Jan 17, 2023)

  Wheeling, IL – SMW Autoblok, a world leader in the design and manufacture of rotational chucks, stationary workholding, tooling, and custom engineered solutions for the machine tool industry, presents the BIG BORE® (BB-N-ES) pneumatic air chuck featuring both rapid and clamping stroke for short clamping cycles and use of full spindle bore for large pipe.

  BIG BORE is the first chuck developed for end machining of long pipe and full utilization of the spindles through hole. These are made possible by two principles invented by SMW Autoblok including air supply through a distributor ring and SMW-profile seal rings. Built-in non-return valves maintain air pressure during machining and the clamping pressure is constantly check by a safety control system.

  Ideal for handling the harsh demands of the Oil and Gas industry, Big Bore and all of its variations is ideal for machining straight pipe, bent pipe and threading of couplings in two setups. This revolutionary chuck also offers extended jaw stroke for greater clearance to ensure safety for the  and loading and unloading of the many variations found in oil field pipe.  

  
  BIG BORE is available in 400 mm to 1000 mm and features large through holes of 140 to 560 mm.

• New Electronic ZeroAct E-motion Features Mechatronic Zero Point Actuation (Jan 17, 2023)

  Wheeling, IL - SMW Autoblok, a world leader in the design and manufacture of rotational chucks, stationary workholding, tooling and engineered solutions for the machine tool industry, introduces the electronic ZeroAct E-motion automatic positioning system featuring Zero Point clamping used in a variety of machining applications including milling, inspection, finishing, clean room operations and 3D printing.

  Ideal for Industry 4.0, ZeroAct e-motion features wireless connectivity and data transfer, and fully automates manufacturing processes using a 24V power supply that operates with a built-in electro-motor. In addition, integrated electronic sensor technology provides contact-free part detection and safety for missing or misaligned parts.  

  With an ultralow profile of 48 mm and extremely flat design, ZeroAct E-motion is ideal for any Zero Point application especially those where a large Z-axis travel of the spindle is critical for application success.

  The modular ZeroAct E-motion system, with a compact size of 150 x 150 mm, provides a repeat accuracy of < 5 µm and holding force of 35, 50, or 75 kN depending on thread of clamping pin.

• 3+3 Air Chuck Features Extended Stroke and Self-Centering for Secure OCTG Pipe Threading (Jan 17, 2023)

  Wheeling, IL – SMW Autoblok, a world leader in the design and manufacture of rotational chucks, stationary workholding, tooling and custom engineered solutions for the machine tool industry, presents the BB-FZA2G pneumatic 3+3 sequencing air chuck featuring an extended stroke clamping range and three self-centering jaws with axial adjustment.

  Ideal to handle the harsh demands of the Oil and Gas industry, BB-FZA2G allows for quick and easy setup of odd shaped pipe for threading and re-threading. Thanks to incorporating three jaws with axial adjustment of the centering position while also using three compensating jaws with extra long rapid and clamping stroke of 1.5”, there is no need to re-shim the part. This enhances operator safety and  greatly increases overall productivity.
  
  Ideal for machining straight and bent pipe, BB-FZAG is available in 740, 800, and 920 mm to cover an extensive range of pipe diameter sizes, and features a large through hole of 275, 330, and 390 mm. This state-of-the-art sequence chuck with pressure control safety system greatly increases production output without re-shimmming of jaws.
