Promess is an industry leader in force and torque sensing applications, giving machines the ability to "feel" how a part or product is being made. Data is collected during these closed-loop operations, and manufacturers use that information to continually improve their processes. Promess delivers the complete system, including the mechanics, control electronics, all the sensors, amplifiers and software. Promess also provides pre-project application engineering assistance, installation support and training services. Promess’ mission is to provide our customers with innovative sensing and motion control solutions, taking full responsibility for the complete system, with the ultimate goal of reducing risk for our customers, saving both time and money.

  • Promess Electro-Mechanical Assembly Press
The Promess Electro-Mechanical Assembly Press (EMAP) is a fully electric, programmable motion controlled ball screw press.

The Promess EMAP offers you the most competitive, accurate, and efficient solution to any assembly requirement....

  • The Promess Servo Press, Electro-Mechanical Assembly Press (EMAP) is a programmable motion-controlled ball screw press with integrated motion control and monitoring. Promess offers a wide variety of servo presses including a standard servo press, hand held press and a press that is able to mount directly to a robot arm.

The standard servo press comes in 33 different sizes with force capacities ranging from less than 0.2kN to 1000kN. The servo press brings you the ability to clone your original assembly, and then forces the system to duplicate – very precisely – all ongoing production. If, for some reason, the system cannot reproduce it, a fault condition will tell you that you have made a component outside the desired parameters.

  • Promess Inc. is introducing a new smart assembly press with fully integrated servo drive, force and position sensing, and controller electronics in a single light-weight package. This new product, called FlexIQ, is designed for high-mix assembly environments and delivers the flexibility needed to precisely assemble hundreds of part model variations in small batch production while verifying the quality of every part through onboard data acquisition and monitoring algorithms.

FlexIQ is a compelling replacement for arbor or pneumatic presses that are traditionally used for high-volume assembly. The FlexIQ has built-in algorithms called “process types” that handle common applications such as bearing pressing, staking, crimping, bushing insertion, compliant pin pressing, as well as press-to-shoulder and press-to-distance. This approach using process types allows Promess to deliver decades of application expertise in a package that is easily installed and made operational in less than an hour and brings companies into the age of Smart manufacturing.

  • The Promess Benchtop Press Work Station is a compact Size 1 Work Station that includes the safety and benefits of a full-size station.

The benchtop work station features a small footprint and is ready for both low-volume prototyping, through pre production, and into full volume production. Promess’ easy to use and highly adaptable software enables quick and easy press assembly validation.

The compact station is perfect for lab environments where a component assembly can be optimized by testing in a controlled environment using production-ready equipment. This testing throughout the design phase can help to design a process that results in increased throughput, less failed parts and decreased machine footprint when it reaches the manufacturing floor.
