Toggle latches are proven and universal devices for fast and secure closing of covers and hoods. With GN 761, JW Winco now offers exactly the right solutions for applications in the medium weight range.

Made of zinc plated steel or stainless steel, they are designed with holding forces of 225 lbf (1000 N), 450 lbf (2000 N) and 674 lbf (3000 N) and supplied with a loop-shaped or T-shaped latch bolt. The new toggle latches of series GN 761 close the gap between the heavy and light duty designs of these Winco standard parts, offering the perfect solution for nearly every situation. Wherever flaps, lids, covers or hoods must be closed quickly, easily and reliably, these robust toggle clamps are the ideal choice. They can even be secured with padlocks. The thread on the latch bolt allows for simple adjustment of the travel distance to ensure precise actuation of the lever.

Along with the two latch bolt types described in the standard sheet, the T-hole and loop, Winco also offers the option of other custom designs with regard to dimensions, shapes and features. For example, latch bolts could be fitted with an integrated spring to compensate for tolerances or elastomer inserts could be used in situations where the latch bolt and the catch do not line up.

Winco is continually expanding the new toggle clamp series with a more secure version: On the GN 761.1, the safety hook integrated into the body automatically latches into the actuating lever at the end of the closing movement.

This ensures that the toggle clamp remains reliably closed and will not open accidentally. The clamp can only be opened after unlocking the safety hook. This can be done with just a single hand and as always Winco is focused on user-friendly operation and has already provided for customer specific and application specific aduses in the initial design.

  • In digital times, they seem like relics from the past, but spirit levels remain indispensable tools in everyday industrial operations. Two new spirit level types from Winco now offer even better and faster alignment.

It is hardly possible to do without these small tools for adjustment when striving for perfectly horizontal alignment of machines, mechanisms or instruments. And even after the initial setup, spirit levels still come in handy during regular operation to show whether the positioning is still correct. Spirit levels can be used almost anywhere. In addition to needing no power supply or data lines, they are robust, simple to adjust and can be added at any time. Winco has now expanded its existing selection of bull’s eye and screw-on spirit levels with two new models – both as practical as ever.

    Cross spirit levels GN 2276

The cross spirit levels GN 2276 combine two perpendicular linear levels within a single, round aluminum housing. This design shows the alignment in two planes at once, making installation and leveling easier and faster. Winco offers two versions: One with a flat underside for direct installation and a second version with an alignment ball on the bottom side for adjustment. The second type, designated “JV,” allows the spirit level to be adjusted using the three installation screws to set a zero point adapted to the specific situation with a variance of +/- 2 degrees.

    Screw-on spirit levels GN 2283

Winco now also offers screw-on spirit levels in a robust aluminum housing. While the existing screw-on spirit levels GN 2282 have been in a deep-drawn, non adjustable sheet metal housing, the new GN 2283 has the same properties as the right-angle spirit level GN 2276. The new screw-on spirit level is available both as a directly mountable, flat version “AV” and as an adjustable version “JV” with an alignment cam on the bottom. Here as well, the spirit level is adjusted during installation using the two socket cap screws.

Both the new linear and cross spirit levels are available in two sensitivity ratings: 2 millimeters of bubble movement correspond to either 6 or 50 minutes of arc. Winco offers a detailed conversion table to illustrate which sensitivity is best for various applications, making it quick and easy to compare height differences, degrees and minutes of arc.

  • From simple hinges for welding on to multi-joint hinges with complex kinematics, the Winco selection has everything needed for superior door and flap solutions—Including extra functions.

You might think that when it comes to opening and closing, all the possibilities of hinges have already been exhausted. Not even close. Winco regularly succeeds in making further improvements to hinges, adding practical extra features or creating designs for very particular niche applications.

For heavy duty applications, for example, try hinge GN 237.3, a compact, heavy duty hinge of stainless steel. With a 180° range of motion, these hinges can stand up to even high dynamic wear—regardless of the mounting orientation—thanks to special shim washers. Depending on the selected type, the hinge bands also have centering extensions that ensure a tighter fit—preventing sliding and eliminating the transverse forces that otherwise place extremely heavy loads on the screws. The hinge pin is secured against loss by a recess and supplied with lifetime lubrication. An asymmetrical band arrangement and the associated possibility of a third fastening hole proves its value especially when mounted in areas with thinner material cross-sections.

The hinge series GN 235, on the other hand, can be mounted with socket head cap screws and—thanks to the offset axis—still swivels by 180° without collision. Horizontal and vertical slots simplify adjustment, and the hole pattern corresponds to existing hole arrangements, making it easier to replace existing hinges.

Additional functionality is offered by hinges with variable friction, and in another Winco part, an integrated spring nsures independent return of the hinge. This special product range, which also includes integrated damping, indexing and locking functions, is being continually expanded by Winco.

One kinematic highlight is already available from Winco: the multiple-joint hinge with either a 4x, 7x or 10x joint mechanism, which opens flaps and shifts their position at the same time. 180° is also standard here, and the internal installation once again makes use of slots. The GN 7237 stainless steel multiple-joint hinges are installed on the inside of flaps, hatches and doors to save space and ensure protection against vandalism. The hinges have a maximum opening angle of 180°, which provides optimal accessibility and avoids the blocking of escape routes by open doors, for example.

With its design hinges GN 138, Winco offers solutions for appearance-sensitive applications: the closed hinge body of die-cast zinc hides the fastening screws and is available in various sizes—soon also in stainless steel.

  • In jig and fixture design it would be hard to conceive building jigs and fixtures without side thrust pins to hold parts – which is precisely why JW Winco developed the series GN 415. They are more compact and adaptable than the previous versions.

Side thrust pins are practically indispensable elements of jig construction and are available in a wide range of variants. Nevertheless, there are applications that demand particularly compact designs that should also be easy to adapt to different requirements. These are exactly the situations Winco had in mind with the new standard parts family GN 415.

GN 415 is available in three sizes between 0.87 and 1.54 inches (22 and 39 millimeters) wide, each with two spring strengths. The two available slide types and the wedge-shaped or cylindrical, rounded thrust pad not only hold parts with side pressure but also exert an additional downward force. All thrust pads can be rotated around their long axis in 90-degree steps to optimally adjust to the part geometry – this is as simple as loosening the central slide screw. The thrust pads are also available in a POM plastic version as well as in stainless steel with smooth or textured pressure pad for better grip. The latter type is produced by injection molding of metal and is therefore subject to only minimal measurement tolerances.

The great value Winco places on simple and universal handling is on display in the method of fastening implemented for the black zinc die cast housing. Two normal bores are supplemented by slots that allow the housing to be shifted by a generous 0.18 to 0.53 inches (4.5 to 13.5 millimeters).

  • Rapid release pins quickly and reliably connect and secure various components. For greater security against accidental release or manipulation, JW Winco has developed the new lockable stainless steel rapid release pins GN 314.

Even if pins appear simple at first glance, JW Winco has consistently demonstrated that this type of standard part can still be improved on in plenty of ways. For instance, the recently introduced versions GN 113.11 and GN 113.12 are ideal for narrow spaces thanks to the L-handle on one side. As usual, the two balls in the pin are unlocked by pressing the button in the handle.

The most recently added member of the rapid release pin family, type GN 314, eliminates the button. It retains the single-piece handle and integrates an extremely valuable feature for certain applications: It can be securely locked.

This function is especially important in safety-related applications since the lock prevents alternating temporary or permanent installations. Platforms, stands, projection walls at drive-in cinemas, speaker towers, and even production systems can be secured against manipulation with these lockable rapid release pins. Thanks to the variety of available dimensions with pin diameters from .31 in (8 mm) to .79 in (20 mm) and lengths up to 4.72 in (120 mm), GN 314 is suitable for almost any application that was previously difficult to secure. As always, JW Winco can also produce other dimensions to customer specifications.

The operation is easy to explain: Turning the key 180 degrees rotates a shaft, which turns a cam in the tip of the pin. This presses a pawl laterally out of the pin. Pulling out the key fixes the pawl in place and prevents unauthorized removal of the rapid release pin. Every pin is delivered with two keys.

Lock type SC allows all rapid release pins to be operated with the same key, while lock type SU requires a different key for each pin. In this way, groups with the same lock type can be used within a larger application featuring different lock types.

The new rapid release pin also offers high security with regard to its load carrying capacity. JW Winco determined the double shearing resistance in accordance with DIN 50141. In the test setup, the pin connects an element to another that encompasses it. The force that results in a break in both shear planes is then measured. For a rapid release pin with .39 in (10 mm) diameter, the shearing resistance is 46 kN, while a .79 in (20 mm) pin can withstand 227 kN.

  • Effective pneumatic clamping
Pneumatic toggle clamps fix workpieces in place, position mechanisms and hold molds together. In this way, they not only simplify handling, they also enable fully auto- mated processes. JW Winco offers a number of flexible solutions for this purpose....

  • Toggle clamps of the series GN 860 and GN 862 feature an important unique property: Using the over-center principal, which provides a positive lock during closing, the retaining force is maintained even after loss of pressure at the cylinder. The low-wear design as well as the option to detect the position of the clamping element by means of magnetic sensors offer additional dependability. The retaining force itself is transmitted to the clamping point by a clamping arm or piston rod. A hybrid toggle clamp employs a hand lever to combine manual closing with pneumatic opening – an important feature for clamping applications requiring individual clamping but simultaneous, fast and automated releasing.

The compact power clamps of series GN 864 and higher are also designed to remain in the clamped position after a pressure loss. The sophisticated kinematics ensures that the setting action is fast while the actual clamping movement takes place slowly, making pneumatic end stop dampening unnecessary. The available types differ in terms of their clamping motions and are each sold in four sizes with astonishingly high retaining forces of up to 13,300 newtons. These clamps feature high stability, long lifespan and low compressed air consumption. The offering is rounded out by various mounting options and a large range of accessories from adjustment plates and blanks for individual jaw shapes to directly attachable proximity switches.

The swing clamps of the series GN 875 / GN 876 perform two motions: The clamping arm first rotates by 90 degrees from its resting position, then travels in a linear motion down onto the workpiece in the actual clamping stroke. Thanks to the rotary movement, either to the left or the right, the workpiece remains accessible from above, allowing it to be positioned and removed directly. The freely selectable mounting brackets as well as the various clamping arm designs allow the clamps to be adapted to the specific situation. There is even a completely customizable adapter flange. The swivel clamps are available in block design with T-groove mounts for end stop sensors or in a compact design with male thread which can be easily mounted in a height adjustable fashion using a threaded adapter flange.

  • GN 36 and GN 37 machine feet are characterized by their solid construction and large variety. They are used especially on heavy application and large machines.

Base plate and threaded stud are not connected to each other; during setup they are automatically centered by the radius at the contact point.

Type B with rubber pad prevents lateral slipping, protects delicate surfaces and dampens vibrations and shocks. Type C with O-ring provides a seal over the ground to prevent the build-up of dirt under the base.

The individual base plates with or without a centered mounting hole can be ordered under GN 36.1 and GN 37.1.

  • U-handle with power switching function - GN 422
JW Winco combines mechanical and electrical functions in standard parts to offer the new GN 422 U-handle with power switching and indicating functions as well as matching accessories....

  • Clever solutions with compact design. JW Winco, the standard parts specialist is adding electrical functions to mechanical components to create the newest member of the series: GN 422 U-handle with power switching function and integrated LED ring lighting. Depending on the application, the U-handle can be ordered in black or silver with one or two LED buttons. The electrical push-button is made of high-quality stainless steel and equipped with a special two-color LED, which switches its color between red and green depending on the polarity. In practice, this allows for indication of the current production machine status, for example.

For mounting, including professional electrical installation, the U-handles come supplied with either a plug connector or cable. The cable pass-through is covered, with the cable running out the back of the housing to be out of the user’s sight. The matching accessories can also be ordered from JW Winco. This includes the GN 330 cable with connector M12x1, which is needed for mounting the U-handle in the cable version.

Being flexible to individual customer needs and to allow for consistent machine design, JW Winco also offers the U-handle without electrical features under the designation GN 422.1. Plus, the illuminated push-button with changeover contact is also available separately without the U-handle and with all connection variations under the GN 3310 series.

In addition to the established offering of CAD data for mechanical design, JW Winco now also simplifies the electrical planning. For all components with electrical functions, such as U-handles with power switching, safety switch hinges, and electrical level monitoring devices, the necessary information is now available as a digital twin to eliminate any system gap: the EPLAN Data Portal offers drag & drop functionality for inserting the information into the circuit diagram by macro, including the supplemental information required for EPLAN documentation. Naturally, this service is free for EPLAN users.
